To add on in this susspension question. Anyone using a tubular k member? If so witch one and does it accept factory components?

I have a MM tube k-frame in front, standard offset (Fox/5.0). It does not accept ANY stock components. It requires the use oftheir tube a-arms, which do not have a spring seat. A CO installation is also required.

Drag car, street car or road race car?

Personally I would not use any other k-member for either a road race car or a street car other than the MM one. Just look at the differences in the structure and bracing between the MM and any other and you'll immediately see why.

MM Fox/5.0 k-member. Note it's a properly triangulated structure made of various sizes of round and square tubing and flat plate reinforcements. Some pics.

It's not the lightest available, but you will not break one of these.

Street, road, strip. I'm not looking for it to be the best in any one but above average in all. That setup is awesome but I don't have the money for a complete front suspension right now. The AJE was attractive because of the ability to use all factory a-arms, springs, and shocks. I could then purchase the tubular a-arms and coil overs at a later date when I had the extra money.

I would worry about the first big pothole snapping that thing in pieces. IMHO.

Be sure to check that the stock SVO a-arms will work with it. You will need an upper spring perch kit also.

NotBud. You've given me cause to legitimately consider updating my BONE STOCK original 84 SVO front-end. I had done so with my previous 5.0 drag cars and it really made a difference. I never considered anything for my 84 SVO other than stock because of how well it handles........at least compared to ANY 5.0 car I or any of my buddies has had. That said, I may truly look into your set-up as something I can do to my 84. I would like to do a little road-racing and I like the structural integrity of the MM components. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Doug in Glendale AZ
